3 Things that Could Have a Dramatic Effect on Your Health
There are so many new things we’re discovering that can have an impact on our health. From what we’re fueling our bodies with to what sitting in front of our screens 24/7, we have to weigh the positives and negatives of everything. Heal Squad breaks down some of the sources that could have a dramatic effect on your health, good and bad!
Food
Food is the most important thing to focus on because it is what nourishes and replenishes our bodies. However, processed food has become more and more common in our diets. Often they contain much more sugar than our body can take in, not to mention the different preservatives, dyes, and artificial ingredients also mixed in. This contributes to the dramatic effects on our health such as diabetes, obesity, heart attack, stroke and much more. Food provides energy and has a direct impact on overall productivity throughout your day. Taking in all of the highly processed food actually has a reverse effect on your body. It can make you feel drowsy because your body requires more energy to break it down.
Blue Light
Most of us are on our phone, tablets, devices 24/7 to catch on with the world today through social media. As you all know, all of these electronic devices emit blue light that is detrimental for your health. Blue light has a high-energy light wave that helps boost alertness and help your brain function better. However, if we have too much blue light, it could damage your retina, which causes vision problems or eye cancer. Over exposure to blue light could lead to permanent vision changes and contribute to depressive symptoms. It is important to reduce the amount of screen time you take by managing your time better or having blue light blocking glasses.
Sunlight
Natural sunlight can make you happier and is essential for your mental health and well-being. There are many different benefits from sunlight including vitamin D, promoting good health and making you feel happier and more productive. Sunlight boosts serotonin that helps keep you calm and focus. We all know that getting too much sunlight can damage your skin; however, the benefits of sunlight goes beyond that. In contrast, it is important to protect our skin from the UV rays that come with the bright sunshine with SPF daily! It is not easy to make healthier choices because we are trained to believe that unhealthy things are more convenient. However, it is important to think about your goal when considering your health. Just know it’s all about finding balance and being aware of the impact certain things can have on our bodies.
